It is purposefully connecting with ourselves and the outside world to be more in tune with the present moment.
It is taking care of our own needs in a meaningful loving way.
It is also deepening our appreciation of the natural world and looking at ways we are so intrinsically connected and similar to nature around us.
There are many various therapies that can help us to cope with life's challenges and mindfulness is now recognised as a firm contender for improving our mental and emotional wellbeing.
My name is Melanie Pearman and I qualified as a Mindfulness Mentor in October 2019 after training with the Founder of Mindful Magic. I have been deeply interested in the mind and body connection since I was a teenager and I now use this passion I have for this subject to Mentor others in loving themselves and looking after their beautiful bodies.
I have a Foundation Degree in Art and Design at the University of Essex and I am a qualified Florist, trained by East Notley college and I use my knowledge of art and crafts to explore our creativity in my sessions. Previous to this more creative way of living I was an Office Secretary for 15 years working first in Insurance, then Fibreglass and then at the Pharmacy Department at Colchester Hospital.
I am a highly sensitive, spiritual person with a zest for life. I have been fearless is finding myself a life that I LOVE and that passion is what I try to impart in my sessions.
I have used many different tools and techniques to support my recovery from Post Traumatic Stress, Emotional, Mental and Religious Abuse, Depression, Chronic Anxiety, Perfection and M.E. to name a few.
Mindful Magic Southend & Leigh was established in 2019 and offers various Workshops and Sessions teaching both Women, Parents/Care Givers with Children, Teenagers and New Mums wonderful techniques and tools for a more grounded, happier life!
Sessions are offered both indoors and outdoors depending on the time of year.
In the warmer months you will find me at the park, on the beach or in the woods - close to nature, my happy place. In the colder months I look for central, arty, relaxed venues to hold my sessions from.
The five main techniques are used to create fun, memorable connections with yourself and others. These techniques involve our Breath, Focus, Movement, Creativity and Down Time.
Going to something new can feel nerve wracking and unfamiliar but the sessions are very informal, friendly and calming. These sessions are for all personalities - the quiet ones, the noisy ones, the fun filled ones, the anxious ones, the sensitive ones.
Each session has a different theme which we explore together.
Bring a mat and an extra blanket for some Down Time at the end of the session.
All art and crafts materials are provided and you will create something to take home with you.
The session involves beautiful, fun breathing techniques to encourage us to breath fully and deeply
Session times vary depending on the group.
There is increasing evidence in rehabilitation
medicine and the field of neuroscience that art
enhances brain function by impacting brain wave
patterns, emotions, and the nervous system. Art can also raise serotonin levels.
Therefore we spend a nice amount of the session creating with different mediums and materials.
Both adults and children love to get lost in creating so my sessions encourage you to make something personal to you.
